Ugh

Local forecast from the National Weather Service:

COLD HIGH PRESSURE WILL NOSE IN FROM THE NORTH TODAY AND TONIGHT. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
TO THE CAROLINA COAST BY THURSDAY…THEN OFF THE EAST COAST. THIS STORM WILL PULL LOTS OF ATLANTIC MOISTURE INTO PA ON DEEP
EASTERLY FLOW. THIS COULD LEAD TO A POSSIBLY DAMAGING EARLY-SEASON SNOW LATE THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT. A UPPER LEVEL LOW
WILL LINGER OVERHEAD FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND…BUT A WARMING TREND IS SEEN NEXT WEEK.

  1. Winter is on its way. In fact, it seems to be starting early this year, as cold and some snow have already occurred. But cheer up, because a warming trend will be with us next week.

I would like to compare this weather to our Christian lives. Just as the snow and cold weather will be leaving us for warmer weather, so too will our sins leave us when we repent and ask God for His forgiveness of our sins.

I just found something on the “autumn” storm. It is interesting how some journalists use the technical sense of “autumn”…meaning until Dec 21st. http://deligentia.wordpress.com/2009/12/21/autumn-snow-storm-in-mid-december-in-nyc/
